PISHTI RULES
How to play Pishti, the Turkish card game: the deal, capturing with a matching card or a Jack, pishti and double Jacks, card points and the 101 match.
What is Pishti?
Pishti (Pişti) is a popular Turkish fishing card game played with a 52-card deck. You capture the pile on the table, collect valuable cards and score "pishti" bonuses. This guide follows the rules of YOZGAMES Pishti, played between you and a bot.
The deal
Four cards go to the table, three face down and the top one face up; a face-up Jack is swapped for another card. Each player gets four cards, and when both hands are empty four more are dealt until the deck runs out. In YOZGAMES Pishti you always play first.
Capturing
- Play a card of the same rank as the top card to take the whole pile.
- A Jack always takes the whole pile.
- Nothing can be captured from an empty table; your card starts a new pile.
Pishti and double Jacks
- Pishti: taking a single card with a matching card scores 10.
- Double Jacks: taking a single Jack with a Jack scores 20.
- Taking a single non-Jack card with a Jack is a normal capture, not a pishti.
End-of-hand points
- Each Ace and Jack collected: 1 point.
- 2 of clubs: 2 points. 10 of diamonds: 3 points.
- Most cards: 3 points; nobody scores on a tie.
- Cards left on the table at the end go to the last player who captured.
The match is played to 101. If both players pass 101 with equal scores, play continues.
Beginner strategy
- Save your Jacks for a big or valuable pile.
- Don't give away a pishti. Leaving one card on the table invites a match; think about which ranks are still out.
- Count cards. The hard bot in YOZGAMES Pishti counts every card it sees.
- Plan the last hand. The final pile goes to the last capture.
